Partial Address on Internet Option Being Removed April 3rd
After careful deliberation, the BAREIS MLS® Board of Directors has decided to remove the field Address on Internet. The Address on Internet field determines whether a listing’s full address or partial address appears on public portals. The field will be removed on April 3rd, and all listings being passed to the internet will display the full listing address. Sellers will still have the option to not have their listing pass to the internet.
There are multiple reasons the Board came to this conclusion:
• Some public portals display a map pointing to the nearest cross street of the address, making hiding the address misleading. For listings on the corner of a street, the map may even point directly at the property.
• Some public portals have displayed the full address of listings, even though they were only supposed to display a partial address. BAREIS MLS® has done our best to keep up on these occurrences and pressure the portals to correct the issue.
• Address on Internet is not part of the RESO data dictionary standard that all MLS’s are moving towards adopting.
If you have sellers who require the property address not be displayed online, please modify the listing on the MLS and mark Pass to Internet – No prior to April 3, 2017.
Please Vote for Your Board of Directors
All Class A and C members in Marin, Mendocino, Napa, and Sonoma counties should have received a ballot for BAREIS general election of Directors. The deadline for returning ballots is Friday, March 10th. Although candidates are not contested, your vote is needed to ensure the candidates are elected.
The election results will be announced during the BAREIS’ Annual Meeting of the membership Friday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. at 153 Stony Circle, Santa Rosa. The meeting agenda will also include reports from the Treasurer, Chairman of the Board, the President and CEO, and a presentation by Rapattoni. We hope to see you there!
Lockbox Hours Affected by Time Change
Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Supra lockboxes will open and close an hour later than indicated in SupraWEB.
During Standard Time (right now) the lockboxes will operate on their normal schedule of opening from 7 am – 9 pm, as indicated in the Supra system. When Daylight Savings Time returns (on Sunday, 3/12), a lockbox that is programmed in the system to open from 7 am – 9 pm will actually open from 8 am – 10 pm.

Tech Tip: Brokers – You Have Control Over Listing Syndication
BAREIS MLS® has offered listing syndication control to brokers since 2015. Primary brokers may use the Office Listing Syndication Tool to edit which public portals receive your brokerage listings.
This short video will give more information on editing your listing syndication preferences. Remember, only the primary broker may make these changes.
