Adaptive Authentication
The switch from the token to Adaptive Authentication has been a success. As of 12/14/09 we have less than 100 of our 9,000 members that have yet to complete enrollment in the new system.
Calls regarding login issues are much lighter than when we began using the token. The most common call is that a member forgets one of the answers to their security questions. You have 18 questions to select from when you first enroll in Adaptive Authentication so please choose questions that are easy for you to remember. Please read the question carefully before typing your answer.
If you receive questions that you are sure you didn’t pick when you enrolled in Adaptive Authentication, please double check your user ID. If you have verified your user ID is typed correctly and you still cannot login, please contact BAREIS support at 707-575-8000. BAREIS does have a tech on call in the evenings and during the weekend that can be reached by calling and leaving a voicemail in the tech voicemail box at 707-575-8000 extension 711 or by emailing techsupport [at] norcalmls [dot] com (techsupport [at] norcalmls [dot] com).
California MLS Alliance
Please remember that BAREIS MLS® will no longer be participating in the MLS Alliance after December 31st, 2009. This means that our data will not pass to MLS Alliance and our members will not be able to access MLS Alliance any longer.
The East Bay MLS’s have committed to a date around the end of the first quarter of 2010 to participate in Quattro. At that point in time our members should be able to go directly into the Paragon system and their members will have direct access to the BAREIS Rapattoni system. East Bay data will then begin to be integrated into the Quattro database over a period of several months so that in the future you will be able to access East Bay data in a familiar Rapattoni environment.
Please note that you also have access to the entire State of California public records through the Realist Tax database.
Sonoma County Service Center Location Change
Effective December 28, 2009, if you are in need of MLS or Key/Lockbox assistance in Sonoma County, please come directly to the BAREIS MLS® Santa Rosa office at 153 Stony Circle, Suite 200, Santa Rosa instead of going to NORBAR. BAREIS’ Santa Rosa office is available by phone 9am-5pm Monday through Friday and in person 8am-5pm Monday through Friday.
BAREIS Holiday Hours

We would like to wish all of you a very merry and safe holiday season.
What can I do to prevent making mistakes when entering my listing on the system?
We realize that correcting mistakes on your listing after the listing is submitted on the system can be frustrating for you and take up more of your time, so BAREIS MLS® would like to help. Input forms are useful tools allowing you to enter listings on the system faster while eliminating mistakes that may happen by not having the information you need in front of you. While the input forms help eliminate mistakes made when incorrect data is accidentally entered, you also always want to review your work on the system before submitting a listing. This is to ensure accuracy and any mistakes made when typing can be corrected before the listing is submitted. Once a listing is submitted all data on your listing can be modified by you except the address, original price, list data and on market date (the on market date cannot be corrected by you if it is already approved and live on the system). Data in these fields can only be corrected by BAREIS staff.
Four reasons why input forms can help YOU:
1.) Input forms show you the exact fields that are on the system, including required fields, allowing you to gather data and record it on the form before entering the data on the system. This can help when you need to double check your work before you actually start entering the data on the system.
2.) Input forms are especially useful if you have an assistant, admin, or manager who enters your listings.
3.) Input forms can be reviewed by the listing agent, broker and/or the seller(s)
4.) Input forms have a signature line for the seller(s) and broker to sign and keep in your files
BAREIS MLS provides you with input forms along with other useful information such as listing input field definitions, tour information, area list, etc… We want to make sure you have the information at your fingertips so your listing input experience is simple and fast. Just login to the system and go to your Links Menu, click on Links & Documents and then click on BAREIS Forms and Lists.
Thank You to All BAREIS Volunteers
In 2009, more than 65 member volunteers have dedicated over 900 combined hours of their time as board and committee members to shape and define the goals, policies and features of your BAREIS MLS. Please take a moment to thank them! BAREIS staff appreciates all their hard work.
