Do Your ‘Flyers’ Contain Sensitive Data?
BAREIS MLS® Regulations do not allow the field Sale Conditions to be displayed to the general public, but it can be shown to clients. There is a question if displaying the financial condition of the seller (like short sale) to the general public places the seller at a disadvantage, unless the seller has granted permission to do so.
Up until now all of our client reports have only contained public viewable data and could be used for clients or the general public. At our Board’s discretion, we have now added the field Sale Conditions to several client reports. These client reports can still be given to clients, but are not to be displayed publicly. It is not recommended they be put out in flyer boxes unless the seller is comfortable with disclosing this information.
