Lockbox Upgrade to Bluetooth Boxes January 9th-13th

BAREIS and Supra will be hosting a Lockbox Exchange Event in your area during the week of January 9th-13th. We will be upgrading from iBoxes to the new Bluetooth iBoxes at no cost to you!

Click this link for your scheduled appointment time and location and detailed information about the event: http://bareis.com/sites/bareis.com/files/bareis_final_mailer.pdf

NOTE - MARIN Members: If you have purchased any lockboxes from the Marin Association of Realtors®, you will need to Upgrade those lockboxes through MAR. They will be sending separate information about their Upgrade Event.

Please remember that you will need to physically bring all lockboxes to your scheduled appointment time in order to trade them out. As a friendly reminder, during the Lockbox Exchange process, most homes in BAREIS Regions may not have lockboxes on them. Please keep this in mind and call listing agent for scheduling showings around this timeframe.

Lockbox Exchange FAQ

Q. Why are we having a lockbox exchange?
A. The current iBoxes are at the end of their warranty/lifetime. The new Bluetooth iBoxes are fully charged and warranted for 6 years. They are also more compatible with Smartphone eKEYs. Click here for more details about the Bluetooth iBox: http://www.utcfssecurityproducts.com/Site%20Assets/bluetooth_ibox_bro.pdf

Q. Can I choose to keep the old lockbox?
A. No, you are required to exchange your current iBox for the Bluetooth iBox.

Q. Do I need to bring my lockboxes to the event?
A. Yes, this is not a software update. You will be physically replacing the old lockboxes with new lockboxes.

Q. Will my ActiveKEY work with the new lockbox?
A. Yes, we are not exchanging keys. The Bluetooth iBox will continue to use the infrared signal that your ActiveKEY uses and will add Bluetooth capability to the lockbox.

Q. I will be out of town/unavailable when the event is going on in my area. How do I exchange lockboxes?
A. If you obtained your lockboxes from BAREIS MLS, you can either come to another exchange location or send your lockboxes in with someone else. If you send your lockboxes with someone else, they must present your written authorization at the event in order to exchange your lockboxes.

(If you obtained your lockboxes from the Marin Association of Realtors, follow their instructions.)

Q. I don’t want to leave my listing without a lockbox. How will showings work?
A. Showings may be difficult during the week of January 9-13. Every member of BAREIS with lockboxes will be involved in the exchange. You should check with the listing agent or office before taking a client to a property to ensure you have access.

Q. What about the lockbox rule? Will that be enforced during the week of the exchange?
A. We will not enforce the rule requiring a BAREIS lockbox to be present during the week of the exchange. However, showing rules and procedures will be enforced and you must follow the showing instructions of the listing broker.

Q. Do I have to come to the exchange at my scheduled appointment time?
A. Yes, although if you cannot make your appointment you should trade appointment times with another agent. The scheduled appointments have been calculated to ensure a smooth flow through the exchange period.

Q. Can I exchange lockboxes after the initial rush week of appointments?
A. Supra’s offer for “one-for-one” exchange of your old iBoxes for the new Bluetooth lockboxes is available during the week of the exchange. Do not wait until after the event for makeup exchanges, as it will be first come, first served  until we run out of Bluetooth iBoxes.

Q. I reprogrammed my BAREIS lockbox to use in Metrolist (or another MLS) and it doesn’t show up on the inventory list. Can I still exchange it?
A. You must first deprogram the lockbox at Metrolist (or other MLS) and then have it reprogrammed by BAREIS before the lockbox exchange in order to be eligible for the exchange.
